SEPTEMBER FAVES '17

September was a busy month for me. I balanced working full-time at a digital ad agency, sticking to my running training plan (I'm considering running another marathon), and maintaining production of weekly content for both my blog and my YouTube channel. My workload, while sounding a little ambitious, has actually been quite manageable when I plan ahead and stick to my editorial calendar (of course, not drinking and not dating has also allowed me to more easily dedicate my downtime to projects like writing or filming).

September was also a bit of tricky month on the food front, too: going zero waste didn't allow me much flexibility and planning my weekly grocery trips and cooking at home was definitely a big part of my strategy for being successful at that challenge. (You can read all about my adventures going zero waste in my recent blog post about it.) The change in my work schedule has also inspired me to make a few lifestyle changes this month: Mainly actually getting out of bed early, instead of just theorizing that I should be getting out of bed early. Life goes smoother when I can run before work and am not spending my mornings feeling like I'm already late for my day. Additionally, weekends have gained all new meaning for me now that football has started up again and tasks I use to sprinkle throughout the week (like shopping, meal prep, and housekeeping) are all crammed into my weekend. My Sunday morning ritual has become running, leisurely breakfast with my Sunday New York Times, and solid couple of hours dedicated to deep cleaning while the NFL plays in the background. Sitting in my living room at the end of the day with the house smelling lemony fresh is one of my favorite relaxing things I can do before starting a busy work week. (I'm starting to feel like I'm turning into Monica Geller). While adjusting to a new work schedule left me quite busy, I still managed to find time to enjoy some of the little things in life. Here are a few of my favorite things from the month of September:
