TRANSITIONING TO ZERO WASTE

If you follow me on Instagram (hint hint), you'll already know that for the entire month of September, I'm going Zero Waste or as I often refer to it, trash free. It is a project I've given a lot of thought into and feel very passionate about. Individual lifestyle changes really can add up to make a large difference and I feel it's important to put more effort into living in accordance to my personal values. (Think: "Be the change you want to see in the world," and "One aspect in life I'm trying not to be a hypocrite.") I was first inspired to do this after watching a video someone posted about a girl who went zero waste, but I happened to be living in China at the time, and going zero waste just wasn't feasible. Embarrassingly enough, it's been well over a year since I first had this idea and moved back stateside where implementing it would be a little easier and I'm only just now getting started on this. Wuff! Going along with my normal theme of "Trying Stuff," I'm going super strict, cold turkey on the whole creating trash thing for the entire month; however, the habits I'll (hopefully) be forming during this month are ones I will continue to try to stick to long after the month is up. I'll have a follow-up at the end of the month all about my experience.

Here's a short video on how I've prepared for going zero waste and how it's going thus far:

I'll be posting updates on how my experience trying to be waste free is going as well as short video tips for zero waste solutions. If you're interested in following these and some of my other silliness, check out (and maybe subscribe?) to my YouTube channel. Wait! What?! You didn't know I have a YouTube channel?! I actually only just launched it, but much like how I run my blog, I'm posting a new video for you (almost) every week.
